Dr Hayley Higgins– Osteopath

Hayley has really enjoyed going into the workforce as an Osteopath since leaving university. She has been working in private practice at Osteo Care since 2018 and loves treating the everyday person.

Hayley prides herself on good communication and patient rapport and enjoys using a varied treatment approach. This includes a structural approach to treatment, soft tissue work, joint manipulations, dry needling and exercise prescription.

Hayley has a keen interest in all things sports, specifically injuries and rehabilitation, and has completed a Graduate Certificate in Exercise Rehabilitation for Sports Injuries at ACU to improve her knowledge in this area.

Hayley herself has played numerous sports including netball, hockey, volleyball, basketball, and loves to watch AFL. Hayley may have a love of sport, but understands personally how injuries have a big impact on life.

Having done an ACL injury herself in 2019, she fully understands not only the physical but psychological impact of a long term injury & believes it adds to her ability to treat any injury, whether sporting or not.

Hayley worked with the Box Hill Football club from 2014-2020 and was part of two premierships with the club.

Hayley’s hard-working nature at the Box Hill provided an opportunity to work at Hawthorn Football Club from 2019. Both clubs allowed Hayley to work with elite AFL athletes & alongside highly regarded Coaches, Sports Medical Doctors, Strength & Conditioning Staff & Physiotherapists, where she learnt vital skills for not only her profession as a Osteopath, but as an human being.

Hayley’s time at Box Hill & Hawthorn Football Club’s came to an end in 2020 due to Covid-19. But she has sought opportunities else where to continue building her experience in Elite sport.

Since then Hayley has be working with Williamstown Football Club as their Head Trainer/Osteopath. And has previously worked with Carlton Football Club during their 2023 Season.

Hayley is always up to learn something new to better herself as an osteopath. And likes to remain open-minded about all forms of treatment, as she strongly believes there is no set treatment for any particular dysfunction and that every individual is unique.

When Hayley’s not working, you’ll either find her hanging out with her friends, family & golden retriever puppy Murphy, at the footy or playing sport.

Hayley is always up for a chat, so please do not hesitate to get in contact if you have any questions.
